Ask The Advisors vs. the “Big Box” Stores…What’s the real difference?

In today’s sluggish economy, there is nothing more important to any business than staying alive. Ask The Advisors is still around because we always deliver the products you want, to give you the experience you imagined yourself being a part of. Referrals and repeat customers are what and will always keep us going.
So far, during my short time here at Ask The Advisors, I’ve noticed that the level of service delivered here is beyond anything I have ever been a part of. With my previous experience working in a “big box store”, I personally, …

So how do you clean the screen on your TV?

I thought you would never ask. What you put on your LED / LCD or Plasma Screen is very important. There are a number of chemicals that should never be used because they will permanently damage or discolor your display. It is best to just stay away from anything that was not developed specifically for your Televisions screen.
So what should you use?

You should use Ask The Advisors Screen Kleen. This is a PH Neutral screen cleaner that is safe for all of your displays, your TV’s and your Computer screens…it is even great for Polycarbonate …

Sharp Wireless TV Line…Coming Soon!

Sharp has recently announced that it is looking to distinguish itself in the competitive HDTV market by going wireless, except for power. Sharp claims this new line of wireless TVs, named ‘Freestyle’, is going to be what makes them stand out from the rest, this year.

Ok, but how are they going wireless? Well, they put a small ‘set-top’ type box that acts as the TV’s hub, allowing you to connect other sources or tune in TV, in which case it then sends those signals wirelessly to the TV…up to 50 feet away! Sharp also stated …

Home Lighting and Shades: Custom Fabric Matched Fascia

We recently added Lutron Sivoia QED motorized and manual shades in a client’s home, although, this was not the usual installation. In order to cover up the mechanics of the shade (brackets, wires, etc) Lutron provides a metal fascia. Unfortunately they only provide this fascia in a few basic colors which are not always appealing to the client or don’t always match the client’s décor.
This particular client did not like the Lutron metal fascia in any of the colors offered, as it did not match their homes’ décor. So instead of leaving the client unsatisfied …

Hacking Your House. Really, The House Itself… Hacked

Two researchers at DefCon in Las Vegas showed how they can hack into X10 and Z-Wave home automation systems that are connected to the homes power lines – and they did this with a handheld device.

These hackers showed how, using a network sniffer connected to the broadband network via an electrical outlet, they could manipulate 15 different neighbors’ lights, HVAC and security systems that communicate via the power line. They were successful only because the manufacturers did not adequately encrypt the data running on the network. They also showed how they were able to track …
