Hacking Your House. Really, The House Itself… Hacked

Two researchers at DefCon in Las Vegas showed how they can hack into X10 and Z-Wave home automation systems that are connected to the homes power lines – and they did this with a handheld device.

These hackers showed how, using a network sniffer connected to the broadband network via an electrical outlet, they could manipulate 15 different neighbors’ lights, HVAC and security systems that communicate via the power line. They were successful only because the manufacturers did not adequately encrypt the data running on the network. They also showed how they were able to track …

McIntosh McMasters Class: June 2011

In 1949 Frank McIntosh and Gordon Gow began manufacturing high quality amplification products in direct defiance of what was believed to be possible at the time. They were among the pioneers of high-end audio, quickly established the McIntosh brand as a performance powerhouse and established a large following. They have maintained this through the decades by expecting the highest quality from every employee at every level and this is exactly what I experienced when I recently attended the McMasters training at their factory in Binghamton, New York.

Their course starts out with classroom education which …

iPhone vs. Android:

The technology industry has basically consisted of two major players in the personal-computer realm – Apple and everyone else for the last 25 years now.
