More new Home Theater News…

Yes it is that time of the year when lots of new goodies start rolling in for the fall. In the last couple of weeks I have told you about some new speakers from B&W and PSB; this week the news is from our partners at NAD.

We now have all 4 of the new Audio Video receivers, and this week we expect the new 3D Blu-Ray player!

There is a lot of exciting news on the receiver front…

First, the new T748, a real NAD A/V Receiver with 3D switching, the always amazing NAD sound quality and reliability…and a price point of only $899.95.

Second is the T757, here we have all the goodies I just mentioned plus NAD’s MDC (Modular Design Construction) which allows you to upgrade both operating software and hardware as things change; and things are always changing. So now instead of buying a whole new A/V Receiver when the next generation of HDMI comes along you can just buy the new board and make your existing receiver “New and improved.” Plus at a new low price point for of MDC of only $1599.95!

Next, in receivers we have the T765HD2 and the T775HD2…these are the new versions of 2 great receivers. They both have all the same things as the previously mentioned units, plus improvements in the HDMI switching adding full 3D capability to these already fantastic receivers. And guess what; the prices are exactly the same as last year. When was the last time you heard that? Here is the new and better units and oh by the way we are not going to charge you anymore for it!

Lutron Thermostat Featuring seeTemp™ Wall Control

Lutron has recently added a temperature control system to the line of RadioRA 2 control systems to add convenience, flexibility and energy savings to your Lutron total home automation system.

The new temperature control system includes:

Thermostat featuring seeTemp™ Wall Control- This thermostat can be mounted in many different areas of your home that would normally not be suitable placement for a thermostat, such as exterior walls or areas that get a lot of sun.

Radio Powr Savr™ Temperature Sensor- This temperature sensor has the ability to be easily placed in any room of your home because of its wireless design. Also, it can be installed and repositioned to another location (if needed) quick and easy at any point in time.

Introducing the 70″ Sharp Aquos Quattron

Triton Two Wins Sound & Vision 2010 Audio Product of the Year

Dear Ron,

We are very pleased and proud to announce that the Triton Two has been honored by being selected as THE Audio Product of the Year by Sound & Vision Magazine.

I have capitalized THE because Sound & Vision only gives one Audio Product of the Year Award - and the Triton is the big winner. Not only that, but as you can see by reading the attached award article, Al Griffin had some additional wonderful things to say. I especially liked,

“my experience of listening with them paralleled previous encounters with no-holds-barred speakers-ones priced upwards of $50,000.”

Now this is something truly amazing, comparing our Tritons with speakers selling for 20 times their price! Our CES Show earlier this month was really amazing. GoldenEar Triton Two Gets Best Review I’ve Ever Read!

Dear Ron,

At the end of this E-Mail is a link to download Al Griffin’s glowing review of the Triton Two Tower which appears in the January issue of Sound & Vision. This issue is just now landing on newsstands and subscribers’ doors.

I have certainly received and read many great reviews in the past, but I don’t feel that I am exaggerating when I say that this is absolutely one of the best reviews, if not the best, I’ve ever seen – not just for my own speakers, but also for any audio product.

I think it is very clear that when Al writes, “I’m not only amazed that GoldenEar was able to deliver a speaker that sounds this good for $2500 per pair, I’m amazed that speakers can sound this good, period.” that Tritons are clearly the best speakers that he has ever heard – or even imagined.

Other little tidbits like, “The Triton Two’s ability to cast an expansive, spatially precise image is so good it’s almost scary.” and simply, ”I remained equally in awe.” will be driving customers into your store in the weeks and months ahead. Of course, this is just the first of what will be, I believe, the most amazing series of reviews and awards for a most amazing loudspeaker.

We have begun to ship demo pairs of Triton Two’s to all dealers this week. Keep your eyes open for some great set-up tips that I will be sending you in a day or two.

PLEASE SET UP YOUR TRITONS IN A GREAT SPOT

PLEASE DO NOT SELL THEM OFF THE FLOOR!

I know that the temptation will be there to let them leave to close a sale, but you want to make sure the Tritons are there to demo, as you will be getting tremendous interest and will be able to close many, many sales. The new Klipsch are here!… part 2

Ok, I know I already made a quick note about the new Klipsch reference series…we are all very happy with them already.

At the end of the blog I mentioned the new RF7II was coming in October and how we were all very excited about its return.

Well, to my great surprise we got our first pair yesterday. We u-boxed them and hooked them up right away and started playing them and breaking them in. I am happy to report in only 24 hours…they are everything we loved about the old RF7 and better in so many ways. I cannot wait for them to be completely broken in; but I will tell you the bass is better defined and smoother and the mids and highs are much improved over the older version. There is great extension, with very wide and deep soundstage already and all with better tonality than before.

I will say it now…this speaker is a home run. If you have room for this “big box” get out there and give them a listen

Ask the Advisors is now, and has been for some time in the business of buying, selling, and trading used Audio gear…

Really you ask?

Yes really, but I thought I would re-visit it for all you avid readers of mine. Although we have been doing this for years, the problem is that sometimes there just is not very much cool gear being offered to us; which is part of why I am writing this blog. We want more interesting and important older Audio gear to be offered to us, so I am going onto the Internet to ask for it.

If you have some older gear that you are no longer using, or a system that you want to upgrade give us a call so we can discuss what you have. If you have gear we are interested in we will ask you to bring it to us so we can see the condition and check the gear for functionality. After that we will make you an offer. It is just that simple. But remember, we do not want everything used out there…we are really after cool and interesting used stuff. A 2 year old Japanese Audio / Video Receiver does not qualify as interesting; a 25 year old McIntosh Tube FM Tuner does. So be sure and call us to talk about what you have before you bring it in so you do not waste any of your time on something we cannot help you out of.
